Web Design in American Fork, UT

Web design for American Fork businesses, from someone who grew up here and went to school here.

American Fork is my hometown. I went to Barrett Elementary, American Fork Junior High and American Fork High School, home of the Cavemen. I played sports at Art Dye Park, went bowling at Jack and Jill's, and saw movies at the "Sticky Foot" theater on Main Street.

The town has deep roots. It was settled in 1850, it still celebrates Steel Days every summer in honor of the mill that shaped its economy, and some of the businesses on Main Street have served three generations of the same families. Plenty of those businesses also have websites that were built a long time ago and haven't changed much since.

I help American Fork businesses bring their websites up to the standard their reputations already deserve, whether that means a full redesign or a first real website.

When your website is older than your newest employee

An outdated website rarely breaks all at once. It just slowly stops pulling its weight. A few signs it's time for a small business website redesign:

  • It's hard to use on a phone, with tiny text, tiny buttons and a lot of pinching and zooming
  • The hours, staff photos or prices are from a few years ago
  • Visitors see a "not secure" warning in their browser
  • The contact form sends messages to an email address nobody checks anymore
  • You can't update anything yourself, because the person who built it has moved on

Each of these costs a little trust. Together, they tell a first-time visitor your business might not be as good as your regulars know it is.

What a redesign changes, and what it keeps

A redesign shouldn't mean throwing away what you've built. We keep your domain, your business name, your phone number and the content that's already bringing in visitors, and we point your main old page addresses to the new ones so links people have saved still work. Larger moves, like big sites or keeping every old page address, are quoted before you commit.

What changes is everything a modern customer notices: a layout built for phones first, fast load times, clearly organized service pages, current photos and information, and on-page SEO written for the way people search in American Fork today. Then we keep it current with small monthly edits, so the site doesn't slide out of date again.

Two American Forks: Main Street and The Meadows

American Fork's customers don't all come looking for the same thing. The historic downtown along Main Street draws locals who've known these businesses for years. The west side, around The Meadows and the I-15 interchange, pulls shoppers from all over north Utah County who may be seeing your name for the first time. Intermountain's American Fork Hospital brings patients and families to the area every day, and visitors heading up American Fork Canyon to Timpanogos Cave and the Alpine Loop are searching for food, gear and a place to stop on the way.

Each group needs something different from your website. A regular wants your hours. A first-time shopper wants a reason to choose you. A canyon visitor wants directions and a menu, right now, on a phone. We build your site around whichever of those customers matters most to your business.

Keep the reputation you've earned

Businesses that have been around a while often have years of happy customers but surprisingly few online reviews, because nobody ever asked. A new website is a good time to fix that. We can feature the reviews you already have on your site, and our review generation service sends a request after every job and reaches out once to past customers, so your online reputation finally matches your real one.
